It’s time to Take Steps!!  We are thrilled to be host Take Steps events in both Southeast Michigan and West Michigan this year.  And while it may be exactly what we are used to, we are excited to see everyone and celebrate our IBD community.  We have a lot to celebrate!  Check out our Take Steps articles below to register or get more information.  Hope to see you on June 12 and June 26.

We will spend the summer planning our Fall events and recruiting volunteers to help further our efforts.  I hope you will join us soon.  And as always, our phone lines are always open.  Give us a shout!

Diet and Nutrition Patient Resources

IBD may cause a variety of symptoms and complications, which, if not addressed, can lead to nutritional deficiencies and malnutrition. It’s important to make healthy food choices, limit foods that worsen disease symptoms, and work with your healthcare provider or dietician to stay healthy and find a diet that’s right for you.  Learn more about diet and nutrition

IBD & ME Activity Center

IBD & Me is a place for kids and parents to learn more about Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Here, kids can read comics and play fun games, all while learning about IBD and how to manage it. Get started by clicking here

Clinical Research 101

How much do you know about clinical research? Clinical research helps researchers better understand the risk factors for developing Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, how to better use existing treatments, and test new treatment ideas for safety and efficacy. Check out this presentation to learn more about the clinical research process.

Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization and are the keys to helping us achieve success in our mission.  Whether it’s raising funds, serving on our Board or a committee, or helping out at an event, each volunteer plays a pivotal role.  We have many opportunities to engage and be involved. Check out videos on our website to hear some testimonies from our Volunteers and learn how you can #joinMIIBD.

We can’t wait to see you on June 12th- rain or shine – at Southeast Michigan Take Steps at Southfield City Center!

Event Day looks a little different this year! The health and safety of our participants, volunteers, and staff are our top priorities and have been top of mind while planning this event. The day will still be packed full of fun and ways to engage. Here are a few things to know:

Schedule: Arrive any time between 10:00 am – 12:00 pm and drive through our Take Steps area. After you drive through, you can choose to park your car and walk a shortened Take Steps route, or you can stay in your car and visit our Road Rally spots around Southfield City Centre. If you are planning on walking the route, please be sure to arrive no later than 11:30am. The walk route is just under 2 miles.

Directions & Parking: Visit the more details page to see the map of where we will be driving through for Take Steps.

What types of activities can we expect? Stop at our check-in/welcome booth to get the lay-of-the-land and your Take Steps Goodie bag. You will have the opportunity to talk with each of our Honored Heroes, and you can visit and chat with 3 of our sponsor booths. Be sure to cast your vote for which Take Step T-shirt you like best! You can get your car decorated, take a photo at the Take Steps Arch, and enjoy the fun music playing! Then, when you are ready, you can either park and walk the Take Steps route, or you can stay in your car and participate in our Road Rally Stops around Southfield City Centre.

Not yet registered? It’s not too late! You can register HERE today and join us at Take Steps, or donate directly to the event! We are so close to our goal of raising $130,000. If everyone registered raised $89 between now and event day, we would hit our goal! Let's work together to fund Cures!

For questions or help contact Sarah at 646-306-1970 or at
