I am not alone
When I got diagnosed with Crohn's, I felt like the weirdest person. I didn't know a single soul with Crohn's disease. In fact, I had never even heard of it. I was alone on my journey and even hid it from most people.
While doing some research I stumbled upon the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation's website. It blew my mind that there were others out there with the disease, let alone an organization advocating for care and a cure! I was intrigued and starting browsing through patient stories and the huge amount of resources that were available. It was in that moment I realized, I am not alone.
I remember my first Take Steps walk and it bringing tears to my eyes because every person there cares about my disease and wants to see a cure. The organization has helped me accept my diagnosis and be open with others to raise awareness. I'm so happy I'm not alone on this journey anymore.
