About the Foundation
The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization whose mission is to cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. Described as a “friend who has your best interest at heart,” our passionate staff and volunteers go above and beyond to do all that they can for patients and their caregivers.
With 41 local chapters across the country, we provide both local and national education and support. We have raised and invested $267 million in research for cures. This funding has enabled many groundbreaking treatments, improved the quality of care, and brought hope to countless lives through programs like Take Steps.
About Guts & Glory 5K
Coping with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis can be extremely challenging and isolating. Take Steps is a family-friendly fundraising event where patients, loved ones, friends and supporters EMPOWER and INSPIRE each other to continue the fight against these devastating diseases. Patients and their families are able to CONNECT with the greater IBD Community, helping them understand that they are never alone in this fight.
From the moment you register for the event, you will be part of the Philadelphia/Delaware Valley Chapter family. A staff member will welcome you and want to hear your story and goals. Then, he or she will provide you with the tools and resources you need to begin fundraising to support the critical work the Foundation does to help patients. Coming together for a common goal, friends, families and co-workers form fundraising teams and motivate and inspire each other along the way.
On event day, you will experience a sense of community and belonging that only happens when a united group comes together to celebrate their success. The festival is filled with music, food, kid's entertainment, education materials and so much more. Rain or shine, it is day of celebration that will leave you feeling empowered for having made a difference, inspired about the future and connected to those on a similar journey.
The money we raise at the Ocean City Guts & Glory 5K Run/Walk goes towards breakthrough research, public and professional education, and patient support services in communities across the nation. Thank you for your dedication and support!
