Lisa's Story

LisaBrodeur

I was first diagnosed with Crohn's disease at the age of 27 after undergoing a surgery to remove my gallbladder. That was 23 years ago. I had two children to care for on my own and alot of stress! I've been on different medicines, been hospitalized, and had surgery.

Crohn's has altered my life in some ways, but I otherwise have tried to live a normal and productive life. We did it and my daughter and grandson joined me in my first Crohn's & Colitis Founation walk this past weekend! It was so overwhelming to be in a place where there was so much support and understanding for these diseases. I often feel very alone fighting this disease. It's so nice to know this is happening and money is being raised for this awful affliction. I will continue to walk and support the Foundation! Thank you!!!
