Why I Walk

Last year, television celebrity Gregory Itzin, best known for his role as President Charles Logan on FOX's primetime drama '24,' donated his time to create a radio public service announcement (PSA) series on behalf of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation. He recorded the PSA series because he wanted to raise awareness of the suffering of Crohn’s and colitis patients and because so few people talk about these chronic diseases. In the 60, 30, and 15 second PSAs, Itzin explained what patients go through and encouraged listeners to register for one of over 100 Take Steps Walks that took place in 2010 in communities around the country. These spots were distributed to radio stations around the country and were subsequently aired nearly 12,000 times on over 2,000 radio stations, raising much-needed awareness of Crohn’s and colitis, and the 2010 Take Steps Walks.

Itzin made his voice heard for the 1.4 million Americans living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and so can you. Click here to share your story about why you Walk for Crohn’s and colitis patients.
