Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis affect more individuals than you may think – over 3 million Americans suffer from IBD. Take Steps brings the community together in a fun, family-friendly and supportive atmosphere so patients know they are not alone.
My journey with Crohns began around 23 years ago, when I was a senior at NC State University (fine institution!). I've been through multiple surgeries, pain, early onset arthritis, and many of the other joys associated with Crohns. 2-3 years ago, I decided to take action, get involved, and support a foundation that has a goal of finding a cure, educating patients/doctors, and funding studies that might not get funded otherwise (eg. Dietary interventions).
I'm very proud to be a board member of the Carolinas Chapter of the Crohns Colitis Foundation, as well as chair of the Paint the Town annual gala. And I'm proud of the accomplishments already achieved by the foundation.
I hope that you can help me and CCF in our journey, by contributing to the cause. No amount too small (or too great :))!
