As most of you know, our daughter Sydney was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in January 2010. She was very sick for several months before being officially diagnosed.
Fast forward 11 years, several hospital visits and surgeries, they have found a medical protocol that has helped her live and thrive over the past several years. She started Medical School in July and is strongly considering becoming a GI doctor because of her disease!
Today, 1 out of every 6 Americans have an autoimmune disease.
Crohn's Disease is the auto immune and your GI track/your Gut!
Most people don't realize that your Gut controls your emotions and stress levels, determines your need to consume food for energy, acts as a highway for hormones and other bodily chemicals, and alerts the body when you are ill basically, basically making this auto-immune central for all research for other auto immune diseases.
That being said, this disease is a puzzle without any pieces. Everyone's disease is individual and responds differently to various protocols. So each person needs precision medicine to provide the right care for their specific symptoms. One day in remission and the next day, they can become very ill and needs hospitalization and sometime surgery, not to mention fatalities that have occurred from this disease. So we have learned to cherish the healthy moments. It is truly heartbreaking to watch your daughter suffer and not be able to take the pain away from her. This disease has truly touched our entire family.
Our #1 Lifetime goal is to be alive for a cure! In order to do that, research funding is so critical. The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation is committed to finding a cure and are making huge strides in funding research studies that are not only helping IBD patients, they are helping other auto-immune research as well.
When you join my team or donate, you are supporting the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. But more importantly, you are supporting an incredible community who have banded together to make sure that every day counts for patients.
Will you join me and make a difference?
On behalf of Sydney, our family and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, thank you very much for your support! We greatly appreciate your generosity more than you know.

We believe no one should have to deal with the fear, uncertainty, and pain caused by Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, also known as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD).
We believe no parent should have to explain a chronic disease to their child.
We believe no sibling should have to watch their brother or sister suffer. We believe that by investing in the best doctors and scientists we will one day cure these diseases. Hopefully in my lifetime!
We believe that every dollar I raise for research will have a ripple effect and could be THE dollar that changes everything for a family affected by IBD.
We believe that every person who joins the fight against IBD can have a lasting impact in the lives of every person diagnosed, today and in the future.
About Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis
Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are both major categories of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). IBD affects an estimated 1.6 million Americans. These chronic diseases tend to run in families and they affect males and females equally. Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract and may affect any part from the mouth to the anus. Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory condition limited to the colon, otherwise known as the large intestine.
The Mission of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation is: To cure and prevent Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis through research, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these digestive diseases through education and support.
