Dear Family & Friends,
On April 30th, our family will be participating in the 2022 Atlanta Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis walk, the nation’s largest event dedicated to finding cures for digestive diseases. My Dad has dealt with Crohn’s Disease since he was diagnosed back in 1978. I was diagnosed with the same disease in Jan 2015. My diagnosis was the reason our family decided to get involved with the Atlanta Take Steps Walk. This will be my seventh year participating in this event and my sixth year (last few years were virtual) attending Camp Oasis, which is a camp strictly for kids with Crohn’s or Colitis. As you can probably tell, our family has a passion to help find a cure and eliminate this disease once and for all.
Each of the last six years my family has sent hundreds of letters and e-mails requesting donations to help raise funds for this great cause and each year we are surprised with the generosity of all our friends and family. My personal fundraising goal for this year’s walk is $1,500 and I need your help to reach this goal. My Dad, Mom, and Brother will also be participating. As a family we hope to raise over $5,000. Because of you, if we can hit the $5,000 mark this year, it will bring our cumulative total to nearly $27,000 over those seven years.
Take Steps is the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) national walk. It is a casual 1–2-mile stroll to raise money for crucial research, bringing us closer to a future free from Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Over 3.1 million American adults and children are affected by these digestive diseases. While many suffer in silence, Take Steps brings this community together in a fun, energetic and supportive atmosphere.
With your help, we will fund important research, patient education and support for millions of Americans. I thank you in advance for your support!
