Atlanta Take Steps

Team Timmy

I am proud to say Team Timmy is back!  I will be the captain of my team this year at the Atlanta Take Steps 2022 Walk to cure Crohn’s disease & ulcerative colitis.  I am very excited to be back involved with this event . This year’s walk is in-person, and the foundation and participants couldn’t be more thrilled! These last few years have been tough to get together and see old friends from events. This year I am excited to be returning to some normalcy.

I am currently a freshman at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I am loving college life and doing my best to adjust to living in a dorm, away from the comforts of home, all while being a student with Crohn’s disease. Though there are ups and downs that come with my chronic disease, I am doing pretty well and juggling my challenges.

The most exciting news I have to share, is my mom, Barb, is now an employee of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. Through her dedicated volunteering for the last ten years, she most recently took a part-time position and is loving every minute. She feels connected to the organization more than ever and I am so proud of her.

The Crohn’s & Colitis Georgia Chapter has changed my families lives forever. I have made friends from all over the country through my camp experiences and the other events I participate in. Please help me do my part in fundraising so we can get closer to a cure for those that suffer daily!

Millions of Americans are living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, and currently there is no cure. Our team is walking and raising money to support the crucial work of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. Take Steps is the Foundation’s largest nationwide fundraising campaign, helping to accelerate the progress of breakthrough research and to support critical patient programs. Take Steps also brings the community together in a fun, family-friendly, and supportive atmosphere and lets patients know they have a community who supports them.

Please help us reach our team goal of $5,000.00 for Take Steps Atlanta by donating or registering and fundraising. Your support will help the Foundation invest in cures for the future, while providing support to patients today.

Leaders in Research: The Foundation has invested more than $400 million in research toward cures since its inception. They remain laser-focused on reducing time to disease diagnosis and improving disease management. The Foundation continues to lead the way in critically important areas of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) research, and to accelerate novel therapies and innovative products that address unmet patient needs.

Empowering Patients and Caregivers: The Foundation serves millions of patients annually, and empowers both patients and caregivers through education, support, and advocacy programs. Examples include COVID-19 resources, expanded pediatric support, influencing legislation, and focusing on diversity and inclusion.
