Welcome to My Personal Page
As with anything, if you are not involved with something, you typically don't know much about it. However, when something like this hits home, you have no choice but to learn about it and begin the fight.
Our situation was such that we were ultimately able to beat most of the disease. My wife's symptoms progressed to a level that we had to have emergency surgery and remove her entire large intestine. Thus removing the UC. Thanks to the unbelievable physicians at Vanderbilt and GOD's supervision, she survived. Following the initial surgery, Jana had several other operations and complications but her health is much better now. Nevertheless, we still live with challenges of the surgery everyday as can be imagined for a person without a large intestine.
When a person or family experiences difficulties such as Crohn's or Colitis, it is life changing. It opens our eyes to many bad things in life but also allows us to reach for the good if we choose to do so. This experience has brought my family closer in many ways. We witnessed several miracles during our stays at Vanderbilt and our faith grew even stronger. We saw the old and very young affected by these diseases and it is truly heart breaking.
We have decided to step up our game and help search for a cure.
Pain is temporary, cures are forever!
Please consider helping.
