Paul Ballas - Ironman 140.6 Santa Rosa
Hello! Thank you for donating to my cause and learning about my personal struggle with ulcerative colitis.
As you can see from the pictures, I love competing in triathlons and have participated in over 15 races. Triathlons are an important part of my life and help me stay focused mentally and physically, which is especially important to while battling ulcerative colitis.
Colitis has prevented me from many activities in my life, but I try and not let it get me down. That's why I'll be competing in a full Ironman triathlon in Santa Rosa, CA on May 11, 2019. If you're not familiar, and Ironman consists of a 2.4-mile swim, followed by a 112-mile bike ride, and then followed by a full 26.2 marathon run. 140.6 miles total!
In 2017, I participated in the Boulder, CO Half-Ironman (70.3 miles) with Team Challenge and had a fantastic experience. I met many other athletes with the same disease and was able to share similar experiences. I also learned about the millions of other people around the world afflicted with my disease and how Team Challenge is helping to find a cure.
Any donation amount will help me and Team Challenge, will help get us closer to finding a cure. Thank you.
