Welcome to Steve's Page
Family and Friends,
First, thank you for taking the time to read my story. As many of you know, over 10 years ago, I began suffering from excruciating stomach pains, fatigue, and numerous other symptoms. The concern, anxiety, and numerous tests that followed are unforgettable. Eventually, I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease - a chronic intestinal disease that, along with Ulcerative Colitis, affects approximately 1.6 million Americans.
Over time, I grew comfortable with my diagnosis, but felt that I wasn't doing my part to raise awareness and ultimately find a cure. So, in July 2017, I raised over $4,000 in running my first half marathon as a member of Team Challenge - the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's endurance training and fundraising program. Then, in November 2018, with the help of family and friends, I raised over $5,000 and finished my most memorable athletic feat to date - the New York City Marathon.
Now, on October 13, 2019, I will participate in another marathon as a member of Team Challenge - the 2019 Chicago Marathon - in my ongoing quest to raise awareness and fund a cure. This marathon, which is likely my last (for a while at least), has the added bonus of being able to run alongside my brother.
In any event, I hope that you can assist me in finding a cure. Thank you for your endless support and powering me through this journey.
