Sawyer & Alison Race for the Cure!

Calling all Supporters (on Banana Phones!)
Welcome to Sawyer and Alison's fundraising page! We are both working to make a difference in the fight against Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. On September 4, 2022, Sawyer and I will participate in the Oregon Wine Country half marathon! Yes, we will relay it like we did with San Diego in 2019--teamwork makes the dream work! I'm thrilled to team up with Sawyer for this event.
As those of you who know us are aware, this mission is personal! Sawyer was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when he was 10, and has dealt with the many challenges an IBD diagnosis will throw at someone! Now nearly 21 (gasp!) Sawyer has faced those challenges head on with bravery and humor. And, the support of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation has really helped! Sawyer is an alumni of Camp Oasis and has benefited greatly from the IBD community made available through the Foundation.
This will be a big undertaking, but it will all be worth it because your donations will not only motivate us to the finish, but they will help us get closer to the cure. We would be grateful for your monetary and/or moral support. Whatever you feel like you can give for this important cause will help others struggling with IBD. We are racing for the cure and won't stop till we get there. Thank you so much for your support!
About Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis
Known collectively as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis affect millions of Americans. They are painful, medically incurable diseases that attack the digestive system. Crohn's disease may attack anywhere along the digestive tract, while ulcerative colitis inflames only the large intestine (colon). Many patients require numerous hospitalizations and surgery. Most people develop the diseases between the ages of 15 and 35; however the incidence is increasing in children.
The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation is the largest non-profit, voluntary, health organization dedicated to finding cures for inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). The Foundation’s mission is to cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults who are affected by these diseases. The Foundation works to fulfill its mission by funding research; providing educational resources for patients and their families, medical professionals, and the public; and furnishing supportive services for those afflicted with IBD.
