Raising awareness from Hopkington to Boylston - The Boston Marathon!
I've tried qualifying many times and last year I finally made it! I'll be toeing the line with my best friend Jenna and Racing in Orange for Team Challenge to honor all who suffer from Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
I know SO MANY people who have these horrible diseases I can't even count. They range from ages 5 all way up to 70. They all have touched my life so much as an employee of the foundation and they are friends that have become like family.
Most importantly, all of them want an answer; all of them want a cure!
April 15th will be an incredible day, running to the iconic Boston Marathon finish and what will make it all worth it is not only your donations to motivate me to finish, but they will help us get closer to the Ultimate Finish Line......CURES!!!
Thank you so much for your support whether it's $5 to $100 or more, you'll help me get to my goal of $2620 dollars raised (26.2 miles get it!?)
About Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis
Known collectively as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis affects almost 1 in 100 people. They are painful, medically incurable diseases that attack the digestive system. Crohn's disease may attack anywhere along the digestive tract, while ulcerative colitis inflames only the large intestine (colon). Symptoms may include abdominal pain, persistent diarrhea, rectal bleeding, fever, and weight loss. Many patients require numerous hospitalizations and surgery. Most people develop the diseases between the ages of 15 and 35; however the incidence is increasing in children.
