Running my 10th Event with Team Challenge!
I view participation in Team Challenge as a way to help the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation increase services to all patients with IBD. I have run 9 Team Challenge Half Marathon and Marathon (NY Marathon) events fundraising for the Foundation. September 4th will be my 10th Team Challenge event, the Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon.
It has been such a pleasure to care for many wonderful patients with IBD. Patient care is the reason I became a doctor and a gastroenterologist. Patient care, IBD Research, and patient advocacy are my passions.
I have been honored to receive the Rosenthal Humanitarian Award from the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation (National), named in honor of our co-founders, Suzanne and Irwin Rosenthal, and with the “Above and Beyond” award from the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (National).
Over the last 2 years, I have worked with the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation to advocate in Congress for:
1) S 464/HR 2163, the Safe Step Act, which provides medication choice protections to IBD patients.
2) The Medical Nutrition Equity Act, which supports insurance coverage of medical nutrition similar to insurance coverage of medication.
I greatly appreciate your support of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation!
Doug Wolf, M.D.
