Will it be easy?... Nope...Will it be worth it?... Absolutely
Hello to all my dear friends and family, and hopefully new ones are reading this too!!
Most of you know the HATE I have for cancer. But there is a deeper hate I have for Crohn's disease.
SO I have decided to TRI and fight against Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
On July 29, 2019 I will participate in the 70.3 Ironman in Santa Rosa California. This will be a big undertaking, but it will all be worth it.
This race will be in honor of my sister Melody Gist. She found out she had Crohn's shortly after having her 2nd child, which is almost 20 years now. She has endured tons of meds, infusions, tests, weight loss, weight gain, and years of pain none of us can imagine.
She is so strong fighting this fight and now its my turn to be strong for her.
1.2 mile swim
56 mile bike ride
13.1 mile run
SO this is where you all come in. In addition to me participating in this triathlon, I will be raising money to fight this disease. My fundraising minimum is $3000. But I know we can do better than that. SO please make a donation. Any amount will do. $5, $500, $5000. What ever you can give. It all adds up in the end for this amazing cause. Lets do this for all who suffer with Crohn's and lets do it for Melody.

I love you Mel. I got your back. Thank you all so much
*****Just a little info about Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis
Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are both major categories of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). IBD affects an estimated 1.6 million Americans. These chronic diseases tend to run in families and they affect males and females equally. Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract and may affect any part from the mouth to the anus. Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory condition limited to the colon, otherwise known as the large intestine.
The Mission of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America is: To cure and prevent Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis through research, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these digestive diseases through education and support.*****
