Getting it done in Tulsa!

You are an Ironman!
As many of you know, I am no stranger to long distance triathlons. I have competed and completed many 70.3's and 140.6 triathlons. I wanted to make 2019 a memorable year as I celebrated a milestone birthday that allowed me to enter a new age group. However my plans were sidelined as I was hit by a car while traning for my events.
The accident did not result in serious injury, but did put the big cabash on my goals for the year. But as life would have it, you have to take what is thrown at you, and it gives you a pause in life to reflect, realize what is important, try to be a better person and do positive things for people. It is with this positiveity that I have decided to help others and raise money for a foundation that makes changes in the quality of life, not only for my family and friends, but for so many others.
Then 2020 came and training was going well until........
However, I have decided to continue to challenge myself even more this year, and to make a difference in the fight against Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. On May 23, 2021 I will participate in the Tulsa Ironman. This will be a big undertaking, but it will all be worth it because your donations will not only motivate me to the finish, hopefully in around 13 hours, but will help us get closer to the cure we all seek. Won’t you please consider a donation today?
About Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis
Known collectively as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis affects almost 1 in 100 people. They are painful, medically incurable diseases that attack the digestive system. Crohn's disease may attack anywhere along the digestive tract, while ulcerative colitis inflames only the large intestine (colon). Symptoms may include abdominal pain, persistent diarrhea, rectal bleeding, fever, and weight loss. Many patients require numerous hospitalizations and surgery. Most people develop the diseases between the ages of 15 and 35; however the incidence is increasing in children.
The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation is the largest non-profit, voluntary, health organization dedicated to finding cures for inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). The Foundation’s mission is to cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults who are affected by these diseases. The Foundation works to fulfill its mission by funding research; providing educational resources for patients and their families, medical professionals, and the public; and furnishing supportive services for those afflicted with IBD.
