Racing for a Cure - Gui Ramos' Fundraising Page
I am Gui Ramos, physician scientist treating patients with Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
If don't already know, Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, known collectively as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), affect millions of patients all around the world. These are lifelong conditions affecting the gastrointestinal tract leading to debilitating symptoms that often result in numerous hospitalizations and surgeries. Despite considerable advances over the past years, up to 2 thirds of patients are not responsive to the currently available therapies.
Trying to increase my role in contributing to advances in IBD care, on September 17th I will participate in the 2XU MALIBU TRIATHLON in order to raise funds to support the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation is the largest non-profit, voluntary, health organization dedicated leading the fight to finding cures for IBD. The Foundation works to fulfill its mission by funding research; providing educational resources for patients and their families, medical professionals, and the public; and furnishing supportive services for those afflicted with IBD.
I kindly ask you to support me achieving this goal, but most importantly support our fight in bettering the lives of IBD patients through research, education and care.
Any donation is appreciated, I would also love to accept extra challenges as part of your contribution efforts - so bring them on!
Thank you for your support in raising awarness for the cause. It may feel like a long way (1mile swim, 25 mile bike and 6 mile run), but our efforts will not end at the finish line!
