We are riding together for each of our boys who have bravely battled with Crohn's disease since they were young. Please support us as we ride in honor of Jake and Michael, our amazing sons
Aileen's son Jake, now 19 was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at the age of 5. He suffered with stomach and joint pain and was very sick. Jake withdrew from friends and did not want to go to school. He developed severe anxiety and it was a desperate and scary time for our family. Today, Jake is doing very well, just finished his first year in college and still travels to Mount Sinai every 6 weeks to get his infusions of Entyvio and has learned to live his life to the fullest.
It is our dream that in Jake's lifetime we will find a cure. That is why I ride at this event. Jake and I appreciate any amount you could give from the bottom of my heart
Kelly's son Michael was diagnosed at the age of 6. he presented with a fistula. His disease quickly followed with symptoms that took over his everyday quality of life. His struggles of nutrition, thriving, self-cofidence, lack of energy, followed by endless amounts of pills, feeding tubes, test after test, shots, scopes, hospital stays, infusions and years of trials of medicines are something no child should ever have to endure. Together with his amazing doctor at Mount Sinai, Dr. Nanci Pittman found him the newest medicine, Stalara, Michael is currently in total remission, enjoying all life has to offer him as Michael quotes "Crohns does not define me, I'm just a guy that has Crohns"
It is our hope that with all donations and research that in Michael's lifetime, we will find a cure. Michael and I appreciate any amount you can donate. Thank you and love to all of you from our family.
