Team EmmanueColitis raised almost $11,000 in 2018! We were ranked in the TOP 10 NATIONALLY!
Crohn's and Colitis disease has been an integral part of almost a third of my life. Last year, I spent almost 2 months at NYU Hospital. I powered through 3 major "jpouch" surgeries and rocked an ostomy bag for close to a year. They removed my entire large intestine (aka colon) and my rectum, which in surgerical terms is called a "total colectomy with ileostomy". Fast forward to today, despite my new normal, I am beyond thankful to be alive and healthy. I believe the greatest source of happiness is the ability to be grateful. I truly cherish all the time I get to spend with Yako and ZoZo, Charlie, and all of my family and friends! (and of course, Gyro!)
I will spin4 the 3.1 million American adults and children affected by these digestive diseases. While many suffer in silence, spin4 crohn’s & colitis cures will bring the community together in a fun, energetic and supportive atmosphere.
Your donation will help support local patient programs, as well as important research projects. This cause is very important to me and I appreciate your help as we fight for cures!
The more money we raise, the closer we will be to making life more manageable for patients who live with these diseases every day.
Please help me reach my goals for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation!
About Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis
Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are both major categories of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). IBD affects an estimated 1.6 million Americans. These chronic diseases tend to run in families and they affect males and females equally. Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract and may affect any part from the mouth to the anus. Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory condition limited to the colon, otherwise known as the large intestine.
The Mission of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation is: To cure and prevent Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis through research, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these digestive diseases through education and support.Crohn's and Colitis disease has been an integral part of a third of my life.
