on october 26th, i will be participating in the forth annual – spin4 crohn’s & colitis cures. our team name is tn multisports (so fitting!) , and we are participating in a 4 person relay to raise funds for the crohn’s & colitis foundation of america (ccfa). please consider joining me/us on the bike (minimum $250 fundraising effort per rider) or donating to the cause that means so much to me!
as many of you know, i have uc and it has impacted my life in many ways. each day, month and year are different, some better and some worse, but each day we hope that a cure will be found and that those effected can be in remission and stay there. not only am i impacted, but my friends and family as well. i receive several emails/calls a year of someone being diagnosed and it breaks my heart, but i will continue to do all i can to help them and raise awareness. doing spin4 is just one of the ways i feel i can give back to the crohn's and colitis foundation as they continue research in finding ways to make each persons life better.
more than 1.6 million patients across the country suffer from crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. beyond raising money for research, spin4 brings together the community in a fun and energetic atmosphere.

about crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis
crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are both major categories of inflammatory bowel diseases (ibd). ibd affects an estimated 1.6 million americans. these chronic diseases tend to run in families and they affect males and females equally. crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract and may affect any part from the mouth to the anus. ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory condition limited to the colon, otherwise known as the large intestine.
the mission of the crohn’s & colitis foundation of america is: to cure and prevent crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis through research, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these digestive diseases through education and support.
