More Walk Details

We’re so excited to be able to come back together in person this year, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you! Thank you for deciding to make a difference in the fight against Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. As a Take Steps supporter, you recognize that no one should have to deal with the fear, uncertainty, and pain of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). We believe that when we band together in the fight against IBD, we can have a lasting effect on the lives of every person diagnosed today and in the future.

Take Steps is a special day for patients, caregivers and supporters. Along with raising crucial funds to combat IBD and improve patients’ quality of life, Take Steps is an event focused on community. Whether you were recently diagnosed or have been living with IBD for decades; whether you are a caregiver or a friend; whether this is your first year walking or year 13, YOU are a member of the Take Steps family.

Our walk will have plenty of entertainment and fun for all ages! As we confirm details of event day, we will update you here. In the meantime, below are some tips to help jump start your fundraising!

1. Log into ‘My Fundraising Center’ located in the top right-hand corner of this website. You’ll need to login first and the Fundraising Center will be under the section that says “Hi, NAME”. You can also log in and gain access to fundraising tools by downloading our app in the App Store or Google Play store.

2. Personalize your Take Steps fundraising page in ‘My Fundraising Center’. Upload photos, and share why you walk.

3. Start a Facebook Fundraiser in ‘My Fundraising Center’ or from the app. Donations collected through your Facebook Fundraiser will automatically be reflected on your Take Steps fundraising page.

4. Ask your network of friends and family to support you by matching your donation or joining your team and fundraising alongside you. Email templates can be found in ‘My Fundraising Center.’

Cost: $8 for 2-3 hours; $12 for 3-4 hours

Distance from North Point Park: 0.3 miles – about a 6 minute walk

Cost: $23 for 4-5 hours; $25 for 5-6 hours




  • Science Park- Green Line

Distance from North Point Park: 0.5 miles (10 min walk)


  • Lechmere- Green Line

Distance from North Point Park: 0.5 miles (9 min walk)




Is there a cost to participate?

While there is no cost to participate and everyone is welcome at Take Steps, we encourage everyone to register prior to the event and set a goal of at least $100. Raising $100 is as easy as asking 10 of your friends and family members to donate $10 each. Each person on your team who individually raises $100 through their participant page becomes a Pacesetter and will receive a Take Steps t-shirt mailed to their home.

Will the event be held in rain or shine?

Our patients’ symptoms don’t stop during bad weather, so neither do we! Take Steps will take place rain or shine; however, if there is dangerous weather, the chapter will notify participants of alternate plans.

Where can I send offline donations?

You may mail checks or money orders to the New England chapter.

How do I set up a Facebook Fundraiser?

1. Start by logging into your fundraising center on your web browser
2. Open a new tab in your web browser and log into your Facebook account
3. On the ‘Home’ tab, click on ‘Fundraise on Facebook’. Click continue on the next screen, then ok.

The walk route is just over 1 mile long.

Yes, dogs are allowed in North Point Park and along the walk route.

Matching Gifts

Many employers offer matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees, funds raised by their employees or a combination of both. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please visit the Foundation’s matching gifts portal . The process for submitting a matching gift varies by company.
