Cross Country to Crush Crohns and Colitis
My name is Michael Hoogsteden, I am the Director of Services for Advanced Turbine Support and a proud ambassador for bicycling. This past October I lost my wife Wendy to complications of Crohn’s disease and colitis at the young age of 47. Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis affect more than 1.6 million people just in the United States. There are very few effective pharmaceuticals that target this disease and as of now there is no known cure. I am compelled to help change this unfortunate reality that affects so many people and have decided to raise funds for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.
Wendy had one of the most beautiful, and strong souls I have had the privilege of knowing. From the moment you met her, she would light up your day with her amazing smile and her love for life. Although her battle with Crohn's and Colitis caused ongoing suffering, the world would never have known since she always focused her energy and loving compassion outward and strove to uplift others in the most genuine way.
Beginning September 2019, I will be embarking on a 42 day bicycling journey across the United States of America in an effort to help raise awareness and funding to make a huge difference in finding a cure for these awful diseases. The Foundation is the largest investor in IBD research in the world. This will be an enormous undertaking, both physically and mentally. However, there is no doubt it will all be worth it. Not only will your tax deductible donations motivate me to the finish, but more importantly they will help us get closer to finding a cure! Please click on the donate link and help to make a difference today!
Please feel free to call me if you have any questions.
Thank you for your time and donation consideration!
